Dr. McClure is a seasoned entrepreneur with a broad range of business experience in addition to a strong technical background. He co-founded Austin-based Xidex Corporation in 1997 to develop nanotechnology-based products for industry and academia. In 1991, Dr. McClure worked with Columbine Ventures to develop and screen investment opportunities in Texas. He launched the first equity-based spin out from UT Austin, DTM Corporation, in 1987 which pioneered the Selective Laser Sintering process for rapid prototyping. Dr. McClure administered UT Austin’s Engineering Foundation from 1983-86. As a program manager at Tracor, Inc., he developed antisubmarine warfare business and assisted the US Navy with long range planning. He administered the Engineering Foundation at UT Austin and served as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering. At Goddard Space Flight Center and the University of Cambridge in England he developed an approach to incorporate earth and ocean dynamic effects into an orbit determination model and into a polar motion model used by the international solid-earth geophysics community.Specialties: executive management, new venture creation, technology business development

President & CeoDtm Corporation 1987 - 1990Founded DTM Corporation, a pioneer in the rapid prototyping industry, the first equity-based spin-out company from The University of Texas at Austin and one of the first member companies in the Austin Technology Incubator. Successfully negotiated an agreement with UT Austin that gave DTM exclusive, worldwide rights to commercialize Selective Laser Sintering technology, identified and recruited a highly qualified management team to take the Company to the next level. Negotiated agreements with B. F. Goodrich that provided over $6 million of equity capital to the company and established a strategic partnering relationship in the area of materials and process development. DTM became a public company in 1997, employing over 100 people, with offices in the US, Europe and Japan and was acquired by 3D Systems, Inc. in 2001.
