Just over a month into my final year at Atlantic Technological University in Sligo, engaging in a range of modules and advanced topics. This year will have a big emphasis on our 'Project 400' ,which encompasses a large software project with a research component. I will be focusing my project on a full-stack application involving artificial intelligence and large-language models. Some other technologies I will be implementing include ReactJs, Django, Langchain, and Docker.Alongside this project, the final year delves into advanced programming topics and provides a holistic approach to learning contemporary technologies and techniques that tailor to the demands of the current software industry and community.Just some of the interesting modules this year include:-Data Analytics : Developing necessary skills to interpret numerical and graphical information to describe data, learning basic concepts and utilising python libraries-Machine Learning : learning the techniques in machine/deep learning environments such as neural networks and supervised/unsupervised learning utilising cloud-based tools and an appropriate language such as python-Advanced .NET programming concepts : aim to have a deeper understanding of programming topics such as asynchronous programming and isolated storage in a multitude of applications such as web applications or WPF. -Software Security: aim is to have a better understanding of security vulnerabilities in software applications and learn the strategies of mitigating against them-Cloud Development : to develop further our skills in cloud application development.These are just a few of the topics and modules we are covering this year. Excited to get practical this year and get working on some new projects.

In the summer of 2022, I embraced a new challenge by working as a bartender and mixologist in Tenerife. This experience allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, master the art of cocktail crafting, and deliver exceptional customer service in a hospitality setting. It sharpened my ability to adapt to new environments, solve problems efficiently, pay attention to detail, and collaborate effectively within diverse teams. These skills, honed in a fast-paced and customer-focused industry, complement my dedication to continuous learning and growth in software development.
