My current role has a hands on approach to processing payroll. When I joined Just Childcare there were 100 employees and is now at 550+ employees 18 months later and is due to increase to 2000+ within 5 years.I currently line manage 1 Payroll Assistant who I am training, monitoring and checking for quality of work. I coordinate and manage several nurseries under 6 payrolls end to end on a monthly basis including all aspects of payroll, childcare vouchers, Pension contributions (auto enrolment), Benefits (P11D's) and Reports for Finance/HR. Due to the company expanding so quickly I have created and implemented payroll policies and procedures including a payroll manual for the department. I have sped up some processes using Macros on Excel. Due to the company acquiring more nurseries I evaluate and setup new payrolls on a regular basis(this includes TUPE transfers) setting up gov gateway and taking on the current situation of the acquired payroll.

(checking hours - going into individual records and adding up hours). my findings were a report which automatically added hours ,This saved me about 1 hour per week.EfficiencyI sometimes receive incorrect data from depots for calculations of amounts payable. I created Excel spread sheets to automatically calculate the amounts and passed them to all depots, which now use this format.
