Permit Issuer (Ce Spec Assoc)City Of Seattle Jan 2013 - Jul 2013Seattle Municipal Tower, Floor 23Issuing permits for using the Right of Way (ROW) in the City of Seattle was the main Job. This was done from the 23rd floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower which is where the Street Use Division of the Seattle Department of Transportation is located. Permits were issued using the Hansen database software. Typical permits included: sidewalk restoration, placing a dumpster in the ROW, and concrete pumper trucks using the ROW. The job included coaching people at the counter. The top two main goals include public safety and mobility. The mobility of cars and bicycles on the street and of people on the sidewalk are all valued. When mobility impacts occur on an arterial street, a traffic control plan was required to be submitted and reviewed before any permit was issued. Almost all permits required a site plan showing where the use was to occur. Part of the job was to review the site plan to assure it contained the minimum information required. The job also included looking up existing permits and other uses of the ROW to assure that coordination between different projects could happen without undue disruption to the public. -
