3D Battalion, 7Th Marines, Twentynine Palms

As the Logistics Officer for 3d Battalion, 7th Marines, I was responsible for the management of all logistics in support of the 1000+ personnel belonging to the unit. This included the transportation and tracking of personnel, equipment, ammunition, and supplies via truck, aviation, and naval shipping, using both contracted and organic assets. As well, I was responsible for the procurement of the supplies required for mission accomplishment, including, but not limited to: water, food, fuel, and repair parts. Additionally, I was responsible for the tracking and application of preventive and corrective maintenance for all battalion equipment, including vehicles, weapons, and communications assets.

26Th Meu, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina

As the Motor Transportation Officer for the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, I was responsible for the planning, supervision and execution of ground transportation operations, supporting over 2,500 members of the Marine Air Ground Task Force with personnel movements and continuous resupply of food, water, and ammunition. I was also responsible for the planning of maintenance for more than 50 vehicles, ensuring Preventive Maintenance, Modifications and Calibrations were accurately identified and tracked, and ensuring that corrective maintenance was conducted as necessary. As the Platoon Commander of the Motor Transportation Platoon, I was charged with directly leading 57 Marines, managing the administration, personal and professional development, and training thereof. In this role, I also had the unique opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of Marine Corps Logistics. Working closely with the embarkation of assets aboard Navy shipping, I gained a particular insight for the intricacies of load planning and aviation transportation.While serving in this role, I also took on the additional duties of HA/DR Officer (Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief), deploying to the Florida keys in response to Hurricane Irma (2017). During this operation, I was the senior logistics officer on the ground, managing the airfield, beach, and supervising the ground transportation and distribution of rations to the local population. During this time, I also helped coordinate the response to Hurricane Maria (2017) in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. As the HA/DR Officer, I also served as the Destructive Weather Officer, remaining aboard Camp Lejeune, NC during Hurricane Florence (2018), ensuring that Marines were safe aboard the installation, and had access to food and potable water. I also served as the NEO Officer (Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations), planning the contingency evacuation of American Citizens (AMCITS) from numerous countries during the 2018 26th MEU deployment.

2D Transportation Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune, N

As the Landing Support Officer for 2d Transportation Support Battalion, I was responsible for leading 48 Marines, ensuring that administrative and training requirements were met, and ensuring the personal and professional development of individual Marines. I was also responsible for the planning and execution of numerous landing support operations, including:1. Helicopter Support Teams: HST's are the ground team that attaches external loads to aircraft in support of logistics operations. In the planning for HST's, I was responsible for the execution of Operational Risk Management evaluations, ensuring that health and safety hazards were mitigated, and ensuring an acceptable level of risk for each individual operation. In planning I also coordinated transportation, communications, and range reservations for each operation. In execution, I served as the Officer-In-Charge for evolutions, ensuring positive communication with external entities and individual aircraft, and directing the assignment of individual Marines to certain positions based on their strengths and leadership abilities. 2. Port/Beach Operations Groups: A POG/BOG controls a port or a beach during amphibious or port operations, coordinating the reception, staging, and onward movement of personnel, vehicles and cargo from shore-to-ship or ship-to-shore. The P/BOG receives load plans from the Embarkation section of the deploying unit, and stages assets accordingly in order to maximize efficiency in the loading or unloading of a ship. As the P/BOG OIC, my role was to ensure the safety of personnel, and to manage and deconflict the concurrent operations of vehicular movement and forklift operations on the beach, ensuring that assets are staged in such a manner as to ensure their ready availability when called forward, and to track the positioning of assets to maintain in-transit-visibility. On a port, the POG is also responsible for coordinating and deconflicting crane operations aboard the Port.

In May of 2014, upon graduation from the University of Arizona, I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Due to the sequestration of the Department of Defense at the time, the majority of my commissioning class was not allotted placement at The Basic School (TBS), the entry level school for Marine Corps Officers, until May 2015. During this time I went to work at Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp, the Business Credit management company, and prepared for my career as a Marine Corps Officer.In May 2015, I checked in to The Basic School in Quantico, VA, and was selected as a Logistics Officer (0402), graduating in November 2015. In November 2015, I checked in to the Logistics Officer Course in Camp Johnson, NC and graduated in March 2016.
