Paul has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. After leaving Florida State University, he became a systems analyst and then the MIS director for Great Oaks Insurance Company. He eventually became an IBM business partner developing risk management and Premium Finance solutions. In 1989 he and his family opened an agency that still thrives today. He currently serves as an Executive officer of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents as Chief Information Officer, and is heavily involved in industry standards and is an Ambassador for the industry through AUGIE (Associations & User Groups Information Exchange) as well as ACT (Agents Council for Technology) which he serves on the Steering committee. He writes technology topics for many industry publications, and also publicly speaks at numerous industry events. Paul not only oversees the technology of FAIA, he also assists their members with technology-related issues including but not limited to E-commerce, agency management systems, standards, disaster planning/recovery, and security.Paul has knowledge of two sides of this complex industry. He is a licensed Florida agent as well as a systems analyst with a background in software development. His designations say it all; AIT (Associate in Insurance Technology) for the technology background, AAI (Accredited Advisor in Insurance) for the Insurance background, and the CPIM (Certified Professional Insurance Man) show his commitment to this industry. With this background and commitment he assists the members of FAIA with a broad array of technology-related issues while understanding specific needs of the independent agent. He is past President of the National iMIS User’s Group (NIUG) the association for association’s using iMIS, Association Management System.
