I founded Read Veneers in 1989 and am very proud to have grown it into a successful and respected family-run business that truly cares about quality and customer satisfaction.Working in the world of natural wood veneers for almost three decades, it’s customary to come across various levels of confusion as to what it is you actually do!Beyond the, “Veneers – what, for teeth?” questions, a great many of the common posers include things like, “So you stick slices of wood to furniture?”, and “Veneers – aren’t they the poor relation to solid wood?”.The truth is, the world of natural wood veneers is a diverse and interesting one and over the years we have played a part in an array of intriguing projects, including the restoration of a magnificent Gothic Church, the overhaul of the foyer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, extensive fit outs of high end apartment complexes and hotels, the production of veneer panels for the VIP area at the O2, the refit of the halls of residence at Cambridge University and the fitting of fire check doors at the London HQ of Total Gas and Power.We work closely with furniture designers, interiors experts, construction businesses, joiners, cabinetmakers and shopfitters, offering a nationwide service in veneer woodworking from our conveniently located Essex base.Should you wish to discuss a project please do not hesitate to give me a call.
