In addition to being a Sr. IT Architectural Analyst, I am also a professional snow sports coach specializing in adaptive teaching for those with both physical and cognitive disabilitiesI have a love for the outdoors and an absolute passion for skiing. In 2005, I joined the Ski School at Ski Sundown in New Hartford. This allowed me the time and opportunity to get my own kids into the Ski Sundown learning programs. Little did I realize at that time just how much this choice would affect me. I very quickly developed a true love for teaching others. Just the joy of watching my students progress into a lifelong sport brought me so much happiness. Two years later, Ski Sundown introduced an adaptive program. I was asked to join, so I did; not even understanding what an adaptive program was! It has changed my life. I could suddenly be involved in a sport that was my passion and share it with absolutely everybody. Adaptive teaching has become the most fulfilling, rewarding, and important activity in my life. I have since been involved with programs in CT, MA, NY, NH, CO, and CA. I continue to expand my education in the adaptive community today by getting involved with and educated by other groups and organizations as much as possible.
