Built out new infrastructure for the data team including, but not limited to, setting up full CI/CD on Google Cloud Build that deployed services to Google Cloud Run. I also built a new vulnerabilities search system in Elixir, Phoenix, and Postgres that integrated with, older, legacy services, and integrated that service, along with our older airflow system, with Grafana through OpenTelemetry and Prometheus. While doing that, I built tooling that helped ensure data quality for customer facing data. My other responsibilities included building Airflow jobs that scraped the web for vendor data and writing technical designs.

Was the first engineer on a new team primarily responsible for an eventingsystem based on openapi and kafka. My contributions for this system involved extending it so that it could ingest events from client applications, collecting events and replicating them into the data science environment, designing the initial streaming systems built on top ofthis system as well as real time analytics that powered authentication. I also helped build large portions of the customer facing section of this system, building out paginated apis that included complex text search, export systems, as well as internal apis that powered user facing analytics. While working on that I also helped move out core event table (stored in postgres) to a partitioned scheme, built out utilities and client libraries that maintained data integrity, implemented large portions of my teams telemetry and monitoring solutions which included building out the tooling that integrated our rust services with opentelemtry. I, along with my team, supported the data science dbt project where I was primarily responsible for deploying it to production and building out the ci pipelines.

Worked with both the data and backend teams, using golang and kafka to build a system of webservices that supported an inventory system, an e-commerce system, as well as smaller data science products. The data science products were all very small, one off jobs that involved the creation of small rest apis that managed interaction with the operational servers as well as auditing and turning off legacy services. The inventory system's primary focus was the unification of separate, disparate, inventory records to create one source of truth. My primary job on that team was to create the data access layer, the tool that imported all of the legacy records into the new system, and a tool that monitored all three systems for signs them being out of sync. I also created a series of smaller utilities that repaired data as we found problems and fixed data bugs. Most recently I joined the e-commerce team where I designed a real time reporting system, working on the system that fed downstream products, as well as the core api.

Worked on the backend/data team, primarily using clojure to expand the backend engine's capabilities. Added Named Entity Recognition tagging, using Standard's CoreNLP, to enrich text processed by company's proprietary data pipeline. Designed and implemented data collection application which parsed RSS feeds for blogs and forums Lead effort to build generic CSV processing system that pulls files CSV files from AWS S3. Assisted in the version upgrade of Elasticsearch collection, migrating data, and conducting quality checks.

Worked with the Live Datamart team (https://www.tibco.com/products/tibco-live-datamart) on a variety of projects. Built Android app (version 8) that visualized live incoming data from a REST APIas an example base app for customers to use. My other responsibilities included adding improvements to how queries were parsed, and supporting more a robust JDBC system, expanding the number of databases that Live Datamart could interact with.

Worked with a team of Data Scientists to analyze surveys, reviews, and internal communication of companies to quantify their internal company culture. Redesigned the dictionary/parsing system we used to pre-process the text instances (so that more standard data analysis could be used) and built the parsing system in Rust. Designed a system to use Bayesian statistics to expand existing keyword dictionaries and wrote all of the documentation for the internal tools we used .

Worked in a team that developed a web app that allowed people to manage and book local areas in downtown Lincoln. The app was built on top of .Net MVC for the backend and Angular2 on the front end. Worked largely with Angular 2 and built the front-end function.

Worked with students from Berwyn-Cicero in a STEM summer program. In 2014 taught C++ for use in simple simulations, in 2015 worked with the SeaPerch program building underwater robots, and in 2017 taught Python3 which the students used to build terminal games.
