Responsible for taxpayer compliance by investigating, challenging and correcting self-assessment tax returns.Work under and ensure knowledge is up to date in regards to current legislation such as; The Commissioners for Revenue and Customs Act 2005, Taxes Management Act 1970, Data Protection Act 1998, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and any other relevant legislation and guidance.Research relevant guidance and use economic models to aid in understanding the business and analysing taxpayer’s records. Communicate with agents, taxpayers and third parties via telephone and mail correspondence, also by organising and chairing face to face meetings in order to manage the tax enquiry, then accurately recording the minutes of each interaction.Collaborate and build relationships with colleagues within the organisation and also with third party professionals to accurately assess the tax return.Use effective communication skills; listening and understanding but also persuading and negotiating with agents to agree the taxpayer’s liability.Work autonomously; being responsible for managing my own case load, diary and time effectively.

Worked as a salesperson in an inbound contact centre, selling the products of BSkyB, to New Customers, Existing Customers or Customers whose service we would like to re-establish. This involved speaking to a wide variety of people, ensuring they are dealt with in a professional manner. I consistently worked towards and exceeded weekly and monthly targets, and prioritised the business' needs.As part of this role I regularly covered the responsibilities of the team manager. This required me to lead meetings involving the team, keep statistics up to date and assess the team members call quality and provide feedback. By providing feedback and suggestions of ways in which they can improve helped me to ensure that the team were exceeding their targets. On occasion when a team member was consistently under achieving I was responsible for setting up a performance improvement plan.
