Spanning 23 years, my career has seen me take on many challenges. From serving my country as a Queen's Guardsman and infantry soldier in the British Army, where I undertook operations in Kenya and Canada to immersing myself in the intricacies of intelligence and security operations in Northern Ireland, each chapter has reinforced my adaptability and resilience. After my time in the Armed Forces I was presented with an opportunity to pursue my passion for snowboarding, which saw me embark on an exhilarating winter season in Whistler, Canada, mastering the art of teaching and qualifying as an advanced CASI Level 2 snowboard instructor.Venturing into the realm of IT and technology, I immersed myself in Network Engineering, a lot studying and on the job experience culminated in the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. A need to try new and exciting experiences and build upon my security skills and expertise led me to transition into a fulfilling role as a police officer within the Metropolitan Police Service. During my policing career I patrolled the busy streets of London as a response team officer and undertook public order training to be able to take part in the policing of large scale public events, such as concerts, sports events, demonstrations and marches. Having consolidated my skills as a response officer I took on the challenge of investigating hate crimes, minor sexual offences, and domestic violence cases within the Criminal Investigations Department. Investigating and managing high risk cases developed essential skills in risk management, criminal investigation and evidence handling that have been invaluable ever since. My time as a Police Liaison Officer at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust at the end of my time with the Metropolitan Police marked a pivotal shift towards security management and operations, as I transitioned into the role of Security Operations Manager at the Trust. Here, within a small team, I managed the safety and security of over 15,000 staff members and helped to facilitate the huge number of 2.3 million patient visits annually, amplifying my expertise in security management and operations.
