I have extensive expertise in the Social Security retirement and disability programs; the structure of US and foreign retirement policies and labor law; US health policy and health economics; the geopolitical and economic implications of demographic change; US budget content and process; and US federalism. I have published widely in US and foreign venues, mainly on retirement and demography; been interviewed numerous times on television and radio, including Face the Nation, Larry King Live and NPR; testified several times before Congress; collaborated with foreign governments and international institutions, such as the governments of Japan and China and the European Commission, in developing studies and organizing high-level meetings; and spoken in a variety of domestic and international forums.
