In May 2021 a new department was formed, called Data Expertise Centrum (DEC). It is the successor of the former DataLab, where we now try to take our mostly experimental work to production. In this new team of 10 datascientists, analists and engineers I have one of the leading roles. In my daily work I try to divide my time over working with the data (analysis, scripting, dashboarding), managing the team and projects, setting up a secure technical environment, streamline processes and promote our work to the organization.

In a field of political influences, sensitive data and conservative ways of thinking, I have helped setting up a DataLab for the Dutch Immigration Service. Besides analyzing data, developing models and prototypes, a large part of the job was to create a consensus about the usability of data science in the organization. In a way I was as much an advocate for data science as a data scientist.

WF turns a major contributor to global warming into seriously delicious, healthy and super convenient soups and smoothies, using an odd combo of old-school and new-school (NASA grade freeze-dry) tech to make it happen. Promoting plant based diet and countering GHG emissions by conserving crop surpluses.My role in the company is developing automation software (Heroku, Postgres, NodeJS, JS), advising about sustainability and emission calculations (LCA), innovation and support sales with webscraping and data analysis.

In an emerging company, specialized in machine learning, VR, Blockchain and IoT, I acted as a real allrounder. Besides consulting in data science solutions internally and externally, I did data analysis, worked on prototypes, websites and concepts, wrote blogs, gave R workshops and did market research for emerging technologies in data science and the Blockchain

I developed websites for a wide range of customers with Wordpress and custom PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
