Responsibilities: Oversee the development of and annual review of corporate security policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure the PJM Security Department is following its own procedures via internal audit of those procedures and activities. Ensure PJM databases conform to security standards. Research and develop best practice changes to database procedures and standards. Daily monitoring of database security-related events.

Responsibilities: Developed Security Strategy. Worked with Security Department and Architects to ensure security issues were addressed during project development.

Senior Lead & Group Leader for newly formed Security Management Department. Initially, in conjunction one other staff member, performed all account management, event monitoring, compliance monitoring, and change management. Closely assisted Mananager to build Security Department from 3 to 12 staff members. Oversaw the composition and publication of security policy, procedures, and standards and all department operations (account management, event monitoring, compliance monitoring, and change management).I coordinated the interface between the Security Department and project management.I was the primary contact with internal and external auditors for three Type I SAS/70 audits and was heavily involved in leading PJM staff to PJM first successful TYPE II audit.

Assisted Division VP in budget coordination and long range planning coordination. I was Primary interface person to Internal Audit for pending SAS/70 Audit. I was the initial project manager for the Y2K project (until I was assigned to help build the Security Department).During this period, I was closely involved with negotiations with the chosen vendor of PJM’s replacement Electric Energy Management System to enhance and ensure the security features of their system.

Management level support and leadership for the System Networking and Program Support department. Department consisted of three groups, Electric Energy Management System 'shell' system developement and maintenance, (2) Voice and Media, with PBX and interface with external telecommunications carriers responsibilities, (3) Network Monitoring, primarily design, implementation, and operation of Netview applications. My primary responsibilities were budgeting, invoice approvals, interface with all other PJM departments, interface with HR on staff issues, and oversight of all Department activities.

Programming for a real-time Electric Management System (EMS) and supporting program. Technical leadership of the EMS support group, having responsibility for EMS application integration, the MMI, communication subsystems, applications requiring response in seconds (LFC, area regulation, economic dispatch, and system security, for example) and integration with applications requiring minute response (such as contingency monitoring, cost curve recalculation, and system configuration change).

Programming for a real-time Electric Management System (EMS) and supporting programs running in batch system. The EMS was IBM 360 architecture running modified batch operating systems.
