Completed the Dutch didactic sailing instructor program 'I2 Kielboot' and 'I3 Kielboot' from the CWO. Every summer holiday for a few weeks I teach children (aged 6 - 17) the basics of sailing at Zeilschool de Kikkert in Lemmer. I take responsibility for children's safety whilst teaching them the sailing basics and letting them have a great vacation at the same time.

With a team of 6 students, we represented the European School of Brussels III in this international STEM oriented competition, organised by ESERO Belgium and EASA. The aim was to create a functioning satellite the size of a soda-can that also researched the ground using advanced digital camera system onboard. We ended up placing 3rd in the national competition.

After being part of the TEDxYouth@EEB3 team for two years, I decided I wanted to have a go at being a speaker myself. The theme ‘New Beginnings’ made me think of the one beginning we all go through in life: our childhood. It reminded me of how fragile it is and how easily things can go wrong without the rest of the world realizing it. In my talk I go over the importance of a good childhood and how easily something can go wrong.

Project ARC stands for Automatic Reservoir Cleaner, which was a small boat with the ability to clean the surface of water using rechargeable battery. We were planned to represent our school in the 2020 ESSS (European Schools Science Symposium) competition, but it was sadly cancelled due to Covid-19.
