Paul Sheldon wrote the Charter for ACA's Permanent Committee on Sustainability-Oriented and Environmentally Responsible Practices in Corrections Committee, that is one of ACA's largest, most diverse, and most active committees. On behalf of the Committee, Mr. Sheldon also wrote the ACA Audit Standard and Policy on Sustainability-Oriented and Environmentally Responsible Practices in Corrections, which were both accepted by ACA for use in facility audit standards and organizational values, beginning in 2012.

The Laura X Institute is the teaching arm of Laura’s Social Movements Archives. These archives feature documents, media, and other materials collected by Laura Rand Orthwein, Jr., aka Laura X, over the last fifty years. The collection pertains to the women's contributions to social movements and a wide array of precursors and overlapping social movements from the second half of the 20th century, with special emphasis on the women's movement, including materials from Laura X's successful state by state campaign to abolish the legal privilege for marital and date rape, as well as Native Americans, women's rights, anti-Semitism, anti-nuke, peace, anti-apartheid, civil rights, free speech, farm workers’ rights, educational reform, ecology, anti-war, women’s liberation, anti-homophobia, environmental, disability rights, environmental health, and healthy homes movements.

Planting Justice is a non-profit organization based in Oakland, CA dedicated to food justice, economic justice, and sustainable local food systems. We are the first organization of our kind to combine ecological training and urban food production with a grassroots door-to-door organizing model that will vastly increase our educational community outreach, help us to recruit volunteers, decentralize our fundraising sources, and provide local jobs that also train young community organizers.We bring community members together to create replicable, energy- and water-efficient gardens that demonstrate how it is possible to grow a complete nutritional diet – including the production of fruit, vegetables, fish, eggs, nuts, edible mushrooms, goat milk, herbs, jam, honey, and meat – right where 80% of U.S. residents live: in the city.
