I serve as a non executive director on a number of companies ranging from the reinsurance industry to financial services

• Was the 1st employee. Liaised with legal representatives to establish company. Applied for Central Bank licence. Obtained IFSC tax certificate• Set up initial infrastructure including sourcing & leasing of premises, IT & Comms, furniture & equipment, accounting systems, insurances, banking facilities, tax registration, etc.• Played a key role in growing HMIL to a peak of 500 staff. Assets under administration grew to $80 billion. Annual revenues were $66m with profits of $15 million. Clients grew to 65 with over 300 individual funds• Initially was responsible for many facets such as finance, HR, IT, administration & facilities, compliance, Financial Regulator, etc. Over time specialists were hired to take on some of these roles• HMIL was acquired twice. Played a key role in both integrations, consolidating systems, policies & procedures• Developed profitability analysis procedures plus recharging systems for out of pocket expenses. Responsible for FX hedging strategy, cash flow monitoring, dividends, treasury, etc.• Prepared Irish & US GAAP financials. Dealt with internal & external auditors, IFSRA regulatory returns, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, corporation, VAT & PAYE returns• NYSE listed parent company controls and structures; adhered 100% to strict reporting deadlines & processes• Prepared detailed feasibility study on establishing 2nd facility outside Dublin; saw project through to fruition, being responsible for multi functional team that designed, planned and developed the project on time and under budget; negotiated grant aid agreement with the IDA for the facility• Involved in outsourcing basic operations to India, benefiting from lower costs & different time zones• Responsible for HMIL’s four office facilities (3 in Ireland, 1 in London); negotiated initial leases and rent reviews where appropriate; responsible for all staff relocations• Took voluntary redundancy as more of my functions were integrated within specialist Citi teams

Mutual Coyle Hamilton Managers was a captive insurance manager jointly owned by Coyle Hamilton and MRM Bermuda • Turned around a previously loss making company into a profitable one• Serviced strategic subsidiary for MRM, dealing with finance & treasury functions, regulatory issues, management reporting• Provided captive management services to client companies, including claims handling, corporate secretarial issues, audit, tax returns, etc• Provided consultancy advice to Irish based clients of Coyle Hamilton culminating in the establishment of captives in Guernsey• Trained Coyle Hamilton executives & staff in the uses of captive insurance programmes

Ennex was an Irish listed mineral and oil & gas exploration company with projects in thirteen countries. It had over 10,000 shareholders and a market capitalisation at its peak of Ir£15 million• Joined as Account Manager and subsequently promoted to Financial Controller; responsible for banking & cash flows, accounts payable, payroll, accounting and consolidation of all subsidiaries • preparation of quarterly Board packs + monthly management reporting and published Annual Report; responsible for upkeep of shareholders register• Computerised gold sampling records in Scotland as part of bankable feasibility study prior to the trade sale of the subsidiary• Prepared feasibility study to establish a gold mining tourist attraction

• Started as audit senior, promoted to supervisor, audit manager, then senior audit manager; most clients came from the reinsurance industry• Managed up to twenty qualified accountants during the busy season; responsible for their training & development
