Ensure Delivery of Major Programme works within Viriginmedia.All Programmes delivered by the ‘Major Programmes Team’ in Network and Business Operations are classed as high value and strategic to Virgin Media. The delivery of these programmes thus utilises a ‘Professional Services’ turnkey approach and requires a solid working partnership between Virgin Media and its selected Contract Partner(s) to ensure customer expectations are met to time, quality, cost and Contractual obligations.Each individual project will have its own bespoke requirements to meet customer demands and these generally are outside of the standard delivery approaches and SLA’s associated with a ‘business as usual’ order

To provide leadership and strategic direction to a regional team, providing “day to day” management and escalation for the team whilst developing and enhancing operational processes, procedures and technical solutions to significantly improve operational effectiveness and both internal and external customer service.Take full responsibility for all team management activities. Including the development and management of Team Briefings, Training Schedules, Performance Reviews, Team Discipline, Quality Audits, Health & Safety Issues, Capex and Opex control (Budget of £1.7M) and any local processes and procedures. Develop and manage appropriate resource planning tools and ensure that BAU, Programme and Project requirements are met cost effectively with flexible work practices and inter-regional/departmental support where required.Ensure deliverance of Upgrades and project delivery within Headend community, to ensure Customer expectation is delivered for Key products, Broadband & TV.Establish and maintain a close working relationship with key stakeholders both regionally and nationally. Working closely with Senior Managers and Heads of Department from all areas, but particularly Regional Access, NMC's, Service Management, Focus on Faults, Access Network Engineering, Platform Engineering, Business Transformation Group and Regional Ops and Logistics to develop customers focused and highly effective operating models and SLAs.To manage the team to provide a 24-hour call out resource and ensure that all faults are rectified/escalated within agreed SLAs. Produce fault reports and action plans to ensure that Platform performance can be monitored and optimised.

TUPE Transfer from Arqiva on 1st July 2007; Facilitate key areas of improvement, to reduce fault rates for East Anglia area, whilst achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPI) stats.Carry out and attend service review meetings with Contractors, who carry out work on both Virgin Media & Arqiva Sites.Ensuring that best practise is carried out by all Electricians and Network engineer, by encouraging first time fix policy.Work to find the best suppliers, whilst ensuring tight budget control.Support field based electricians and other network engineers, ordering equipment, parts and assigning workloads.Stand in for line manager in his absence.Provide FLM to various companies, supporting the fibre optic & SDH networks.Provide 24hour On-Call cover on a rota basis.
