Each of the products are handmade by an experienced engineer allowing the process to be managed & ensuring quality control.Express Transformers & Controls Ltd make transformers & power resistors for many different industries & is part of the British lift association. We specialise in creating specialised products made specifically for a specific role. They make only a few of each product but don’t supply in bulk. Each product is designed & created to specific specifications i.e. a transformer could be built from scratch to be used in an elevator design. As an engineer, it is my responsibility to manufacture each product, exactly to specification, onsite. The transformers, power resistors & magnetic coils are made in different assemblies depending on the size, the smaller parts are created in the light assembly while the larger parts are made in the heavy assembly. The PCB assembly creates the electronic parts needed for our products.An engineer at Express Transformers & Controls Ltd must be able to oversee PCB assembly as well as the manufacturing of transformers, power resistors & magnetic coils. This ensures that any Express Transformers & Controls Ltd engineer can liaise with the customers to demonstrate that it meets the standards set & that the product runs smoothly from design to finish. The magnetic coils are wrapped in insulation tape to create electromagnets & the plastic circuit boards are created through the PCB assembly & are wired by hand.Express Transformers & Controls Ltd procure bespoke components ensuring that all products meet specifications & fulfil their purpose. This involved learning all of the technical schematics & understanding how the product worked.I had to visit clients to ensure that products bought meet their expectations & make any repairs as necessary.I use & expand on these skills as I work as an engineer at Express Transformers & Controls Ltd making transformers, power resistors, PCB assembly & magnetic coils to customer specifications.I have gained teamwork skills which I use planning & manufacturing the transformers, magnetic coils & power resistors with the other engineers at Express Transformers & Controls Ltd, as the work is divided between the light & heavy assemblies.This experience provide me with the technological knowledge I apply while working on the PCB assembly line.We meet with our customers for product development & to see if the transformers are in suitable condition.As we work with many different sectors each of our products are unique so great care must be taken to ensure that there is no faults.I look forward to expanding on the experience & skills I have learnt as we gain more customers at Express Transformers & Controls Ltd. It was up to me to procure all transformers, power resistors, & magnetic coils needed for production & supervise any PCB assembly that was applied to the products.It was up to the PTO to decide whether the product was satisfactory or if it would be terminated before meeting up with the client.Some other duties I had were to guard the building, making sure that everyone had clearance & inspection of vehicles entering the facility.As Express Transformers & Controls Ltd.’s engineer I manage the planning & manufacturing of many of our products as well as meeting with customers to see if the product was satisfactory. This includes parts procurement & sales development of the products. I supervise the PCB assembly, ensuring that the boards are made to specifications & the electronics & wires fit. I plan the transformers, magnetic coils & power resistors to meet the client’s needs before the team manufacture the product. I will expand on the experience I gained as I continue to plan & produce magnetic coils, PCB assembly, transformers & power resistors at Express Transformers & Controls Ltd for many different clients.
