A registered Professional Engineer, and Structural Engineer, who has served on a number of committees charged with developing design and evaluation criteria for both new and existing industrial facilities including three American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) committees for wind, seismic and blast design at petrochemical facilities, respectively, and the CalARP Program Seismic Guidance Committee charged with developing seismic guidance for evaluating facilities in California handling acutely hazardous materials. Project experience includes being the responsible structural engineer for seismic and blast-resistant designs at industrial facilities on over 200 projects worldwide, design of new facilities and seismic evaluation/upgrade of existing facilities at multiple locations in over 20 countries on all continents, and fire/blast and seismic hazard assessment and mitigation at many major industrial facilities worldwide. Project experience also includes the provision of expert witness services in a number of legal disputes related to construction, settlement, wind, blast and earthquake loading on industrial facilities and building structures.
