Paul Sweeney is a senior law enforcement and security professional with extensive management experience in the public and private sector areas of investigations, security services, crisis intervention, critical incident and emergency communications, public/private partnering, transitional training, as well as academic and professional development training. He has earned and maintains International Board Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) along with four National Incident Management System (NIMS) certifications. Paul retired as Program Director for the Criminal Justice Technology Degree Program at Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) in Wilmington North Carolina. He and another Instructor developed and deployed the CFCC Cyber Crime Technology Degree Program. Has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and the University of Mount Olive as well as a guest lecturer at the University of South Carolina. He has consulted for public safety departments, university police/security departments and private sector security agencies (individual and cooperate) on security, training, investigations, and professional development needs. He is licensed in North Carolina as an Unarmed Guard Instructor, a preferred instructional provider for the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, developed special professional training seminars for private sector firms, and risk assessment on training documents, records, and programs.He is a member of ASIS International (ASIS) currently serving as Chair of Law Enforcement Liaison Council (LELC). Additionally, he leads the committee for the Global Security Exchange (GSX) Sessions Review and Workshops.Publications include “Teaching, Technology, and Law Enforcement”, “Exploitation of Adults on the Internet”, and “Safe Cities Initiative” along with newsletter articles for the LELC and North Carolina Azalea Coast Chapter of ASIS International.Paul holds a Master in Criminal Justice Degree (MCJ) from the University of South Carolina (Law Enforcement and Juvenile Justice Administration Concentrations), a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Coastal Carolina University, a degree in Public Services Technology in Criminal Justice from Horry-Georgetown Technical College, along with numerous academic and technical courses from the United States Air Force Air University and Community College in Aerospace Technology.
