I have been leading successful brands and teams in the hair and beauty industry for over 15 years. Growing companies and executing go to market strategies to take them from the ‘under dog’ to ‘top dog’ is incredibly rewarding and fun. For Shortcuts, a salon technology company, this journey started by partnering as a distributor and then selling the business to the brand and becoming CEO in the UK & European region and growing to be the market leading salon software company. Being promoted to CEO of North America required a very different strategy and focus. Within 5 years we took the market leading position with chain business and developed exceptional Enterprise relationships. My team implemented technology into the largest chain and franchise groups in the world. The growth in the US with clients like ULTA, Ratner and Sport Clips built incredible value and allowed the business to be sold to Constellation Software in 2013. Pulp Riot was an irresistible opportunity to join an amazing new hair color start up. We grew the revenue in year one to 11M via National (Salon Centric) and regional independent Distribution. As the fastest growing hair color company in the world, Paul spear headed the sale of Pulp Riot to L’Oreal US in 2018. In the 3 years to follow, Paul was the brands COO, leading the sales, finance and operations teams as they integrated into the L’Oreal machine. Paul has now joined his wife and part of linkup marketing inc & sustainbeauty.co. Sustain Beauty brings new sustainable tools, products & services from overseas to the North American market. An example has been ECOHEADS - an Aussie start up that helps artists & salons conserve water and save color waste - creating a whole new category.
