Currently managing the Mining Assessment Team at the Department for Energy and Mining also am fortunate to be the National Chair of the AELERT Impact Assessment Community of Practice and Committee Member of the SA Institute of Quarrying.Over the last 12 years I’ve worked in various assessment roles starting in northern QLD but mainly in SA at my current department. I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from highly experienced people across government and industry which has led me to my current role as a leader within the Mining Assessment Team. In terms of achievements I’ve developed processes, written terms of reference, guidelines, led lean reviews and led many contentious and complex assessments to completion. Working from the bottom up has given me exposure to the full range of people in mining from small family businesses to global mining companies. I’ve worked with them all giving me a great perspective on the industry and the role that government and regulation plays.
