I am an Aircraft Concepts Engineer in the Civil Service, and harbour a love for design and creation. I chose to pursue aerospace following a childhood of flying RC planes and drones on my grandmother's farm, and starting to modify foam aircraft as a teenager.I am pursuing a career in air vehicle design, with a desire to develop aircraft from concept through to manufacture and maturity. After graduating with a 1st in Aerospace Engineering (MEng) in 2020, I joined the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) conducting third-party assurance for small-arms range safety, before moving to Dstl (Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) in 2022 where I currently work as an Aircraft Concepts Engineer. I directly support the analysis and progression of a wide variety of concepts, from small <10kg platforms to larger uncrewed air systems. In these roles, I have gained experience conducting air vehicle concepts analysis, developing airframe sizing tools, managing budgets and small teams. I have developed my critical thinking, eye for detail, and desire to innovate.
