I am a problem solver and as such, I seek to understand issues that impact people and try to help. I will seek to understand user pain points, research what current solutions exist, and investigate why they may be insufficient. Based on that, I will create and test hypotheses to try to address these issues. Based on continued feedback, I will either continue down the same path, or pivot to a different approach. This is also my approach to developing software. I believe in human centered design, lean experiments, and minimal viable products. I am used to working with eXtreme Programming methodology in a professional environment including test driven development, pair programming, and red/green refactoring. I look for everything I’m tasked to do point back to a hypothesis we’re trying to test based on user research. My technical skills are my tools to achieve these goals. I have experience working with numerous tech stacks and am able to learn new ones in a very short timeframe. I have many years of experience as a full-stack developer across many different technical setups. I primarily have worked with React and Typescript in the front-end, but also iOS native apps with SwiftUI. I have experience with a large variety of different back-ends from standard JVM (Kotlin/Java) with SpringBoot or Python Flask web services, to custom Rust implementations interfacing with NATS via QUIC.I view knowledge of a system something that should be shared across a team in order to not create information silos. I believe in having a life outside of my work and employers can expect I will take advantage of all of my vacation. Developers should work closely knit in a balanced team with designers and product managers rather than isolated from one another. If you are an employer who holds these values, I would be happy to hear your mission and see if I would be a good fit for you. I also am not interested in jobs intended to be long-term remote.
