Paul teaches A-level and GCSE (AQA) Physics and KS3 Science across all year groups as well as helping supervise a boarding house of boys at the school. Paul runs an Engineering Working Group where he leads 6th Form students in their chosen projects. Projects include construction of an F24 Racing kit-car and building a Radio Telescope. Paul is part of a working group tasked with developing Teaching & Learning at Loretto school.

Leading a programme to transform and automate dataflow and MI production in a commercial insight team. Having assessed and benchmarked the current technological and colleague capability, I shaped the data and reporting strategy and designed a strategic solution that enables better insight, efficiency and control around data management and report automation. The key objective was to move two reporting functions away from MS Access/Excel foundations onto a bespoke SQL environment, delivering automation and control across the reporting portfolio as well as production efficiencies and uplifting colleague/area analytical capabilities. I led the recruitment of specialist PTS resources as well as engagement with local data teams to agree a shared solution. As the programme lead, I manage the strategy, governance and delivery of the programme. This was a 12 month programme completing in Dec 2019.

Senior MI Manager leading a team of 30 colleagues across a number of sites nationally in the delivery of robust, timely management information to the Customer Delivery units within Group Operations. This MI spans key senior service performance committees, operational planning processes and end-user data solutions and is all focused on ensuring the customer service provided through our Service Delivery teams is effective, efficient and within control of expectations and budgets. My accountabilities cover the production of a portfolio of c500 reports, MI & data infrastructure management and governance, real-time and tactical planning for telephony and back-office functions, management of all area-impacting change programmes as well as the operational leadership of a diverse, fast-paced function. Key achievements were:- led a successful transformation programme to transform and automate data, processes and working practices enabling the release of a targeted amount of FTE saving via safe, sustainable and robust solutions. These included new technologies such as Tableau and COGNOS.- benchmarked the MI/data operating model and identified opportunities to improve, delivering these over the course my time in role. These included effective prioritisation and change control processes, coding and route-to-live standards, replatforming from out-of-support systems, improved engagement with business stakeholders and investing in colleague development- led the function through a number of high-impacting business incidents ensuring solutions were implemented quickly and safely, stakeholders were fully engaged with impacts, costs and risks fully communicated and controls implemented to improve system/process resilience avoiding the risk of repeat- improving the culture of performance management amongst managers by introducing coaching and tools to enable colleague-led development focused conversations and fair, consistent appraisal practices across functions
