Leading the inspection for assessment and undertaking the assessment of load carrying capacity of a variety of bridge types and forms of construction including steel, wrought iron, cast iron and concrete structures. Working on this project has enabled me to become proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel, I have also gained basic CAD skills.My duties include;• Planning and undertaking inspections of railway structures, inspections often undertaken during night-time and the holiday period.• Producing approval in principle for assessments, including idealised models, of various structures and working with numerous offices within the U.K and ICRC to produce assessment calculations. • Analysing historic archive drawings and site inspections notes whilst working with the CAD team to produce full general arrangement and defect drawings.• Undertaking risk assessments relating to structural defects.• Providing maintenance and repair recommendations to client.• Reviewing the work of and mentoring less experienced members of the team.
