Utilizing my customer service skills, combined with my admiration for and knowledge ofLongwood’s history, I joined the Guest Services team focusing on guest engagement, dailyoperations, and programming support.● Circulate throughout the garden grounds and buildings providing guests with assistance,directions, and information regarding Longwood amenities, displays and events.● Responsible for greeting guests, controlling crowds, operating guest transportation vehicles,providing support for seasonal activities, events and demonstrations, opening and closinggarden areas and buildings, and ensuring the gardens are safe and guest ready.

Utilizing my interior design and display skills, I joined the visual display team as a seasonal associate to assist in the design, planning and installation of the holiday visual decor and merchandising to bring the magic of Macy’s to life. ● Tasks included assembling various types of fixtures, selecting props, and styling and dressingmannequin forms to showcase merchandise on the sales floor and in window displays.● Refurbished and installed a variety of holiday decor items using an array of tools andladders/lifts.

Scalamandre merged with Stark to become Stark Scalamandre Fabric.

Primary responsibilities were managing the Fabric and Wallcovering Division of the Philadelphiashowroom, which included overseeing sales, personnel, and client relationships. Titles andresponsibilities were adjusted over the years as personnel changed, new vendors were added,and as Scalamandre merged with Stark. Notable achievements include:● Being personally responsible for retaining and processing nearly half a million dollars of salesannually.● Forming a relationship with a new vendor that resulted in filling missing product categories,attracting new clients, and resulted in a 60% increase in sales over the previous year.● Orchestrated two showroom relocations. This included designing the new spaces (selectingfinishes, fixtures, etc.), refining products and removing low selling items, categorizing,organizing and packing. Also involved working with movers, landlords, and othertradespeople.● Learning, utilizing, and training fellow coworkers on the AS400/Danick ordering system toobtain item information and inventory, and to place and maintain orders.● Assisting clients in putting together schemes while simultaneously upselling additionalproducts to increase sales.● Managing in-house and road sales representatives; providing direction and assistance to meetclient expectations.● Developing and maintaining relationships with a large base of clients, vendors, andtradespeople.● Processing credit card and check payments, estimating shipping charges, and calculatingapplicable taxes.● Coordinating the incoming of new products and modifying the showroom to properlyintegrate and promote new merchandise.● Organizing and maintaining a large inventory of product memos to keep available and readyfor client use.● Designing and installing visual displays to showcase new merchandise for the current seasonor holiday, as well as coordinating and planning displays up to a season in advance.
