The plan involved a multi-million capital injection for a single IT infrastructure, re-engineered supply chain including distribution center and a refurbished/relocated branch network. A network of 40 locations was over 24 months merged to 26 with all local teams facing significant cultural, physical, structural and operational change. Under my leadership strategy was developed and implemented to re engage staff, improve service levels, divest and invest in selected business segments and supply chain assets. A rigid improvement plan sought to engender pride in the business via a simple “road map” to success I ensured that each area of the strategy had a detailed business plan with KPI measures to plot progress. • Successfully developed and implemented strategic business plan; Multi-million EBIT improvement and asset reduction. • Maintained strong emphasis and achievement of service levels; >95% DIFOT• Achieved expense reduction of $5M, including staff reduction of 80 FTE’s.• Achieved positive cultural change; staff turn reduction; ~25% to <15%. -

Top line sales, margin retention and lowest operational cost ratio were keys to success.• Achieved five year financial goals in two years (5x EBIT growth).

Marketing ManagerNz Safety Ltd Apr 1994 - Jun 2000AucklandMarketing Manager my responsibilities covered all product and promotional areas assisted by ten product managers.I was personally responsible the development of new ranges of industrial apparel in the High Visibility, Wet Weather and Winter categories. Products were manufactured within NZ Safety’s own factories and sold exclusively through the NZ Safety network in NZ and Australia. Under the introduced “house” brands of Tornado, Hi Viz and Cold Killa. An active member of the A/NZ standards committee for High Visibility clothing I sold to organisations in roading & construction, Power and Port companies, Civil Defense and NZ Police. The category grew exponentially over 3 years providing NZ Safety with the first to market advantage.During this period the business was involved in several key initiatives to align and leverage sourcing and supply chain across the NZ and Australian business’s (Blackwoods and Alsafe). The combined stable of house brands were introduced into both markets and market share continued to increase as NZ Safety cemented its leadership position in a period driven by increasing safety legislation and awareness within NZ industry.
