As a CPA and CFO, I have experienced both sides of global business and its associated complex operational challenges, including leading through transformations, restructurings, volatile economic cycles and crises, while continually assessing enterprise risk. My experience in public accounting and corporate executive leadership uniquely positions me to serve as a board director, advise executives, and educate the next generation of leaders. I currently serve as an Independent Trustee for Goldman Sachs Trusts, Goldman Sachs ETF Trusts, and Goldman Sachs Variable Insurance Trust (GSAM mutual and exchange-traded funds) and as a member of the Board of Governors of St. John’s University. Other experience as a board director includes Morgan Stanley Holdings, LLC and Morgan Stanley Europe Holding SE, where I helped guide the establishment and start-up phase of Morgan Stanley’s post-Brexit EU international hub. In my advising with MYNEXTSEASON, I help clients embrace industry change, lead global teams, navigate board dynamics, and forge strong communication at all levels of an organization. Through empathetic listening and candid communication, I work with each executive to discern the root cause of the challenges they face and lay a strong foundation to continue their professional growth. Prior to my retirement in 2020, I led the restructuring and modernization of Morgan Stanley’s finance function as Deputy Chief Financial Officer. I led the transformation of technology, processes, responsibilities, and leadership roles for more than 3,000 professionals, while working closely with the board audit committee and serving on multiple high-level strategy teams. Previously, I helped guide the firm through the 2008 financial crisis as Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer and led Federal Reserve relations while transitioning to a bank holding company. It’s my belief that acting with integrity, leading with inclusivity and the ability to give candid feedback that respects cultural differences are keys to success. In doing so I gained the respect of regulators, board members, clients and colleagues around the world. Throughout my career, I welcomed the opportunity to mentor colleagues at all stages of their professional journeys, helping them broaden their viewpoints to discover new paths in reaching their goals. I am fortunate to continue this mentoring in the corporate setting as well as in higher education.
