I run a tutoring agency, based in beautiful Bronte country where I live.I have been working in the education sector for twenty years with English as my specialist subject. During my teaching career, I was a Head of Department for 5 years and an Assistant Vice Principal or ten years. I have a passion for helping young people to become the very best that they can be, to see and achieve their potential. The majority of my career has been in inner city schools which has reinforced my belief that teachers and education are the major determinate for shaping a child's future.My business is called Tutor Tailor. I chose this name because learners have different strengths, different areas for development, different learning styles, different personalities. We specialise in tailoring the learning to suit the individual. As a person, I am driven by ethically-rooted values and as a business owner, these values underpin everything that I do and all decisions that I make.When I am not working, I am looking after my furry and feathery family on my smallholding in Haworth, West Yorkshire. Being among nature, surrounded my animals, is good for the soul and helps to bring balance to a demanding working life. Animals, like children, can teach us so much about ourselves while we are busy training and teaching them!
