My role as a Financial Accountant primarily involves the preparation of Statutory accounts for a number of our group companies in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In addition to the actual accounts preparation of accounts, as and Entity Controller I am also responsible to ensure full liasion with auditors, both in the UK and in-country. Further, I have dealings with internal Tax and Legal teams, plus external translation providers in order to ensure sets of accounts are complete and thus available to fulfil Tax and Statutory filing requirements, pertinent to specific country deadlines. During my time in Financial accounts (since April 2002) I have prepared accounts for group companies within the following countries: UK, France, Slovakia, Italy, South Africa, Ireland, Turkey, Denmark, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Norway, Switzerland, Egypt, KenyaOther work in my current role includes review and monitoring of management results on a monthly basis - in line with timetable, for the countries within my assigned responsibility.Preparation of review commentary for monthly P&L areas and balance sheet accounts as assigned.Review of processes and procedures pertinent to certain entities where local gaap differs from US gaap. Implement process changes to reflect good practise relative to the entity.

During my time as General ledger Regional Manager I had day to day supervisory responsibility for a team of between 4 and 6 people. Within my team we performed the general ledger accounting activities associated with 23 legal entities in the EMEA region. The day to day work of the team included journal posting, AP/AR/FA/Payroll ledger interfaces, Balance sheet reconciliations, P&L results review of which I was resposible for review and signoff.In addition, I was a key player in the transition of accounting activies from a number of countries in EMEA to our UK shared service centre. Countries which I visited to undertake transition work include Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Belgium. Further I have supported Tax audit work in support of the transferred entities - which were within the remit of my team.
