I have been in the environmental industry for over 17 years, including being a Program Manager in Brownfields Redevelopment, a Used Oil Recycling Program Manager and as an Event Sustainability Manager. My specialties include recycling and implementing other sustainability initiatives, environmental due diligence, historical property research, brownfield assessment, brownfields grants, and event and program management.I am a creative problem-solver who works with communities in Tennessee to revitalize contaminated and blighted properties. My collaboration with federal and state governments, the private sector, non-profits, redevelopment agencies and communities has been critical for this revitalization. I facilitate the assessment, cleanup and productive re-use of brownfield properties across the state. My extensive public speaking ability is an asset along with my background that includes a Master’s Degree in Environmental Health Policy and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry. The intersection of public health and environmental health come together in my current job as the Brownfields Grants and Community Engagement Coordinator. I have guided 20 communities, non-profits, counties and redevelopment agencies in applying for and securing over $15 million in federal funding to address contaminated properties in their communities in Tennessee. I have also provided technical assistance to these groups during the planning and implementation of clean-up of the contaminated properties and reviewed and/or commented on Phase I & Phase II Environmental Assessments and Quality Assurance Project Plans which led to redevelopment throughout the state. My strong interest in historic preservation and the arts are evident in my volunteering in my community.
