CurrentWomen United is a dynamic group of 70,000 business women and community leaders, in 155 communities (within 6 countries), united around creating a stronger community and inviting women to be part of the solution. They have been a driving force behind the rise of community impact through their local United Ways for over 14 years. Far from being transactional donors, women get involved, shake things up and make great change. Focusing on women’s philanthropy, advocacy, volunteerism, mentoring and leadership.Our Lubbock Women United has chosen to make the prevention of child abuse and neglect its Signature Issue. With our Lubbock community having one of the highest rates of confirmed cases of child abuse and neglect in the State, our women are fiercely committed to protecting the precious children in our community through advocacy, mentoring, and financial support for Lubbock Area United Way programs and strategies that protect children and strengthen families.Women United offers members year-round opportunities for engagement---online and offline---that are connected to the ‘signature issue’ and help to advance substantive improvement in community outcomes.Women United has a giving component, with each member giving at the Leadership or Tocqueville Society Level ($1000+ annually).
