I recently graduated Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies. Through my major in African American Studies, I was also able to declare a minor in English. These two majors have greatly impacted my trajectory as a scholar as I was able to strengthen my research and writing skills. I was able to gain archival research skills and digital research skills through my work in the Rose Library, the Hugh F. Mc Millan Law Library, and the Robert W. Woodruff Library. The interdisciplinary nature of my major allowed me to strengthen my skills in historical writing, literary analysis, and comparative literary writing. As I began to focus more on literature, I have mastered infusing elements of history, gender studies, and other disciplines.My combined studies have propelled me to pursue a Ph. D in English, and in the following year, I will be applying to graduate programs through the Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers through Andover University. During this time, I will be working as a Bankruptcy Paralegal in RAS Crane.
