My higher education has been in the health and social care field. I have worked for various different organisations such as schools, supported living, residential children's homes and various children social work teams. I have gained experience in theory and practice regarding best practice in child and family assessment and planning, this has made me socially aware of issues faced by children and families from ethnic minority communities and other minority groups. From my experiences of working with multi agencies it has equipped me with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. My organisational skills are of high quality taking pride in all work no matter how small. I show initiative this means I can work unsupervised thus being trusted to work efficiently and meet all set deadlines. Past work both academic and gainful employment has developed my communication skills. I am a good team player, but also work well independently. Throughout my studies and work life I have gained relevant knowledge of different theories within social care, the Children's act 1989 and 2004 which underpins overall working with children and families, other relevant legislations and current policies.
