When I joined the talent management processes and practices were virtually non-existent. The business environment was extremely challenging which required me to apply excellent stakeholder management, influencing skills and tenacity to keep leadership development and talent management on the agenda.When I left Smiths Detection active talent management was embedded. Programme ran over a 12 month period and combined assessment centre principles with active development support. Trained executives to be the assessment centre assessors and mentors for participants.Worked in partnership with INSEAD to upgrade the AkzoNobel General Management Programme for Executive potentials. Aligned programme more closely with AkzoNobel business priorities. CEO and other senior executives participated in programme delivery. Ran bi-annual programmes at INSEAD.Worked as part of a team to put in place a global management development programme for all businesses throughout AkzoNobel. The programme was for all managers both new and experienced and was rolled out across 30 countries and in 15 languages. The aims were to support the development of the organisation culture and establish a common language and shared processes. -
