My role within Fircroft is a true HR generalist and business partnering role to one of the major Oil & Gas operators in the Australian Market. Servicing purely one client, Chevron Australia - a global Oil & Gas operator involved in 2 of Australia’s largest LNG projects and Australia’s largest single resource development. I accepted this role as a 12 month fixed term contract in order to asses’ areas where the business was lacking structure and opportunities to increase revenue and profitability. The role involved streamlining processes and implementing procedural improvements that would ultimately increase profitability. Reporting to the Financial Controller, my primary task was to completely restructure the credit department building it from the ground up establishing new credit policies, procedures and process overviews.I was responsible for all aspects of credit control nationally, including debtor account management, and the efficient and timely collection of cash and minimisation of bad debts. My primary role is to ensure cash targets are achieved by setting collection budgets and ensuring the overdue debt is maintained at the company’s targets of 0.5-2%.In this role I had 6 direct reports including credit control, accounts payable and invoicing / administration clerks.Other responsibilities include preparation and analysis of KPI reports, cash flow forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, employee performance appraisals and maintaining strong associations with all departments within the company to facilitate the best cash conversion cycle possible.My leadership skills come from a proven ability to establish strong rapport at all levels of business within both internal and external stakeholders.
