Oversee the daily operation of the Children's Department. Planned and execute a labeling, weeding, updating and reorganizing project of the entire Children's materials collection. Consistently increased the number of participants each year in the Summer Reading Program.Consistently achieved large increases in both the number of pre-school programs and the number of children and adults served by these programs each year since 2001, exceeding established goals.

Instituted and maintained an overall plan with yearly goals and objectives for continually improvingcommunication and cooperation with local schools. Set up a yearly schedule of mailings to the schools including letters to principals and Assignment Alert reminders throughout the year. Served as library liaison with parents, teachers and the Department of Education for the Parent Involvement Project designed to encourage parents and pre-schoolers to explore basic science andmath concepts to increase school readiness. Engaged YA’s in participating in a library project by creating a local cable television program about the library. YA’s conducted interviews, demonstrated crafts, created clay animations and recited poems on-camera. YA’s also assisted with taping, sound and other aspects of production.
