Health Status Assessment team is responsible for providing information products on chronic disease, risk factors, health equity measurement and community profiles for internal and external stakeholders. • Supervise a highly skilled analytical team, lead and manage all team projects including long-term collaboration projects while managing my own projects;• Developing strategic plans, logic model, request intake process to streamline team activities;• A member of several committees in public health related areas such as health equity, chronic disease surveillance, maternal & child growth etc.;• Lead and conduct multiple applied research projects using advanced statistical modelling techniques, such as multi-level modelling, time series analysis and aiming for publication; • In collaboration with Alberta Prevent Cancer Legacy Fund, as one of the co-leads, I lead and developed a public facing dashboard called Alberta Cancer Prevention and Screening Dashboard (http://www.albertapreventscancer.ca/alberta-prevention-data/community-data-dashboard/community-cancer-prevention-screening-dashboard/ ) to collate relevant cancer information at community level and present in an interactive and visually appealing manner;• Participate AHS health inequality measurement committee to develop and recommend key summary measures to evaluate health inequality within province;• Support zone public health offices to measure the performance and improve the efficiency at different geographic levels;

Public Health Surveillance & Reporting provides province-wise public health information to all stakeholders, our products range from infectious diseases reporting, immunization, chronic disease reporting and syndromic surveillance, etc.As an innovative and efficient team, we invested in streamlining the data analysis process, model building, data visualization, and automation. As a senior epidemiologist, my projects range from Health status community profile report, immunization performance measurement, syndromic surveillance (monitoring provincial real-time emergency department data, healthlink data, and air quality data on a daily basis).

• Worked with EMR (Electronic Medical Record) data and DIMR (Data Integration, Measurement and Reporting) administrative database, census database on quite a few projects, including workload projection for major Cancer Centres in Alberta: Tom Baker Cancer Centre expansion planning, CCI planning;• Conducts validation studies on data from various administrative data sources (including but not restricted to DAD (Discharge Abstract Database), NACRS (National Ambulatory Care Reporting System), Physician Claims and Cancer Registry to determine appropriate data sources to identify key events that are part of the cancer patient care continuum;• Involved in performance indicator development for CancerCare and provide support for CancerCare performance reporting and quality improvement work;• Worked with GURU, SCN on a series of assessment projects on quality of care, referral pattern analysis;• Worked on several CPAC reports on systemic performance measurement report, CPAC special report on PET utilization in Alberta;• Lead and organize the analyses of biennial report “Report on Cancer Status in Alberta”;• Familiar with survival analysis, logistic models;

• Coordinate data request operation and be a member of data request quality control committee to develop QA/QC guidelines for data request function• Proficient in data cleaning, organizing, manipulation and data analysis using SAS, EXCEL, R • Good knowledge of cancer pathology, coding standard, diagnosis process and treatment procedures• Profound understanding of data structure, data historical changes and data limitation• Familiar with SEER cancer surveillance softwares to produce provincial cancer statistics (possibilities of been diagnosed and dying of cancer, PYLL, relative survival, joinpoint analysis)• Get familiar with quantitative predictive statistical analysis including survival analysis, categorical data analysis and age-period-cohort analysis• Trained of GIS disease mapping, SASCAN software for disease cluster detection• Demonstrate strong awareness of quality assurance and maintenance
