As part of the dynamic litigation team that is Slack & Davis L.L.P., I represent clients in a range of litigation matters, including aviation business-related litigation, complex commercial litigation and business torts, as well as providing briefing and appellate support to our products liability and catastrophic personal injury department.Prior to attending law school, I ran a successful translation practice, Midnight Oil Translations, in which translated legal and commercial documents from Spanish to English for energy sector and telecommunications companies doing business in Central and South America. While my experience as a translator renewed my interest in the law and ultimately inspired me to attend law school, my decision to become an attorney had a more personal impetus as well. My father, Larry D. Knippa, maintained a successful general business litigation practice for more than 40 years in Houston, Texas where I grew up. While he and I often have heated exchanges about the "law" (much to our amusement and the annoyance of those around us), in terms of one's responsibilities as an attorney, a friend and a family member (however extended that family may be), it is his example that inspires me and is the one to which I aspire.Specialties: Aviation law; complex civil litigation; appellate practice
