About Paul Clifton

With over 20 years of experience in semiconductor technology development, I am a passionate innovator and leader in the field of advanced CMOS and SiGe devices. I have a PhD in Applied Physics and Electronics from Durham University and more than 50 US patents to my name.As the VP of Semiconductor Technologies at Acorn Technologies, I drive the company's semiconductor IP development programs, targeting 10 nm CMOS node and beyond. I am responsible for creating and executing business plans, internal technology roadmaps, project planning, and recruitment of R&D personnel. I also maintain a deep involvement in engineering activities, such as TCAD/ photonics simulation, process integration, advanced materials analysis, data analysis, and inventions. I collaborate with academic and industry partners to deliver innovative and cutting-edge solutions addressing metal-semiconductor contact resistance reduction, FDSOI enhancements, and innovative nanophotonic interconnects.
