I've dedicated my life to defending the principles of justice, liberty, and equality at the heart of the U.S. Constitution. Before I learned how to earn a living as a lawyer, I studied economics at FIU, where I graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Then I studied law at Georgetown in Washington, D.C., where I graduated in the top 15% of my class. After that, I moved back to Miami - and I haven't looked back since.I worked for a couple big law firms before briefly going in-house, but about ten years ago I started my own practice. Today, most of my cases are real estate related, but I handle all kinds of commercial and criminal cases from beginning to end. And although I still regularly try cases, over the last several years my work has shifted towards writing and arguing appeals. Since I filed my first appellate brief in May 2014 in Foche Mortgage, LLC v. CitiMortgage, Inc., 163 So. 3d 525 (Fla. 3d DCA 2015), a case we won, I've authored dozens of merits briefs, many of which have resulted in reversals for my clients, including in De La Guardia v. FNMA, 176 So.3d 389 (Fla. 3d DCA 2015), Cruz v. JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., 199 So. 3d 992 (Fla. 4th DCA 2016), Sosa v. Bank of New York Mellon, 187 So. 3d No. 943 (Fla. 4th DCA 2016), 944 CWELT-2007 LLC v. Bank of America, N.A., 194 So. 3d 470 (Fla. 3d DCA 2016), Benzrent v. Wilmington Savings Fund, 273 So. 3d 107 (Fla. 3d DCA 2019), and Morales v. Fifth Third Bank, 275 So. 3d 1970 (Fla. 4th DCA 2019).I also represented two of the petitioners in the bellwether case of Lewis Bartram v. U.S. Bank, N.A., 211 So. 3d 1009 (Fla. 2016) and the appellants in Garcia v. Navy Federal Credit Union , 224 So. 3d 339 (Fla. 5th DCA 2017), 90 CWELT-2008 v. Yacht Club at Portofino, 245 So. 3d 925 (Fla. 3d DCA 2018), Ashear v. Sklarey, 239 So. 3d 786 (Fla. 3d DCA 2018), and CWELT-2008 Series 1045 LLC v.
