The Code Zone is a set of coding clubs for children of all ages and all abilities.Whether your child is completely new to computers, or the next Mark Zuckerberg, we have a club to suit. Our clubs are typically run termly, with the occasional weekend or holiday club. Our aim is to encourage, enthuse and engage children in coding, knocking down all physical and social barriers to accessing code in a cool and interesting way.We believe that children will naturally learn when given the right environment and tools to peak an interest. So it's not all about a keyboard and a screen... we use codable drones and robots to give important real-world context and offer a variety of digital and creative challenges for children to undertake.

Intelligent Penguin Ltd started life in 2011 when I started to grow it as a company after freelancing since 2004...I'm now responsible for a great team of 13 self confessed geeks! Intelligent Penguin offers bespoke web development services to local, national and international clients, as well as other designers and design agencies. Intelligent Penguin Ltd was then formed in 2011 to develop products and SaaS as well as the bespoke web development.To support this, I currently managed around 30 dedicated servers, supporting a ranged of Windows and Linux based shared hosting services, online API's and dedicated web applications.I left Intelligent Penguin early 2015 to pursue new challenges.

As a projectionist I am responsible for running the shows at Saffron Screen, Saffron Walden's community cinema. As well as actually showing the film (ads and trailers), this also includes the making up and taking down of the films as the are delivered in small reels.

Developing new features and enhancing existing features on the front-end web application, MI:Viewer. The application is the customer's focal point for access to their own materials data and it is important for this data to be easily accessible and efficient to enter and retrieve.As Browser Based User Interface Expert my role was to research, improve and maintain the user interface for MI:Viewer, taking into account different customer use cases, and usability requirements.This role required knowledge of XHTML/CSS, ASP.Net C#, with knowledge of MVC. Unit testing (using Rhino Mocks), NUnit, and uses Team City to centralise the build and unit testing.

In the short time I was at Airetrak, I took responsibility for developing the Reporting module, part of ResourceView. Here we used ASP.Net (C#) and WCF to separate the reporting code from the web application.

I oversaw the development of technical builds of all projects as well as the design and development of internal software tools used, including the content management system, community management and full e-commerce, statistics and reporting application. In addition to this, I managed a team of three other developers and worked closely with the Production Manager and Lead Designer to schedule the projects.Early on at Internet Geeks I introduced ASP.NET C# and SQL Server 2005, originally they used classic ASP and Access Databases. In my first job since finishing University I quickly developed skills in team working and directly supported a number of e-commerce solutions. I became proficient in new languages and development skills required of me in a very short space of time, focussed on IBM’s Websphere platform and portal, and J2EE development.
