My role as a Fit/Pattern and Product Development Assistant at MADE Outdoor has been a cornerstone of my career. I've been gaining experience in pattern-making, development, and design. Working closely with our lead patternmaker and product developer, this role has been instrumental in growing my skills in both the creative and technical sides of fashion design. This position followed an internship during my third year at university, after which I was fortunate to transition into a permanent role.Before entering the fashion industry, I spent over a decade in Vancouver's vibrant Film and TV industry, honing skills in storytelling, visual aesthetics, and team collaboration. The shift to fashion and design was spurred by a desire to channel my creative energies into my lifelong passion, especially during the reflective period of the pandemic.As I near the completion of my academic journey at The Wilson School of Design, where I'm pursuing a degree in Design, Fashion & Technology, I am focused on my final university project. This project—a resort wear collection with innovative built-in breast support—explores my interest in merging elegance with functionality, a theme consistent with my previous work, including the design and construction of a snowboard jumpsuit that combined feminine design with functional requirements.After graduating, I am excited to delve deeper into the fashion world, pursuing opportunities that align with my dual interests in design innovation and achieving the perfect fit, especially for the female figure. My academic and professional experiences have fueled my passion for creating garments that not only exude elegance but also offer comfort and support.
