KEY ACHIEVEMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES• My main role was to conceptualise the company’s technical direction, including -- Defining ShapeBlue’s roadmap for its contributions to the Apache CloudStack project -- Designing the high-level architecture of features and improvement to Apache CloudStack for clients and ShapeBlue's development roadmap -- Prioritising and scheduling implementation by collaborating with the VP of Software Development to assess required resource and relative value of ShapeBlue's contributions• Designing and building CloudStack and CloudPlatform-based IaaS platform implementations• Collaborated with clients including Sky, British Telecom, Orange, SAP, Ticketmaster, Autodesk and Cisco in the provision of turnkey solutions, supporting clients’ design and build of CloudStack-based cloud infrastructures.• I also drove the continuous ongoing internal process evolution. Including designing and implementing many automations, agregating information for disparate platforms to provide actionable information where it was needed, and a CI/CD platform.• I promoted CloudStack by presenting at technology meetups and CloudStack Collaboration Conferences to share an understanding of CloudStack and its evolution with prospective, new and long-term users

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES• As Chair/VP of the Apache CloudStack Project I served as interface between the Apache Board and the CloudStack Project, reporting quarterly on the health and progress of the project.• As a member of the Apache CloudStack Project Management Committee I worked to;-- Determine composition of the PMC-- Establish procedures for operational management of communities for which the PMC was responsible-- Govern the management of legal issues-- Oversee processes for peer review and collaboration, and ensure that releases represented the product of the community as a whole-- Further the community’s overall long-term development and health

At Galliard Homes, I took the IT of a company consisting of 20 employees working above a dry cleaners, on its journey to a £250 million property developer, letting agent and construction company. As Galliard Homes was an ever-expanding enterprise with many development projects' budgets in the hundreds of millions; I ensured that the IT responded to, and where possible, pre-empted the increasing demands, utilising appropriate technologies such as thin clients on construction sites for securing and robustness, remote site data-caching for performance and being a pioneer of the use of BlackBerry devices in the UK.I designed the infrastructure flexible enough to support on-site accounts, architects and admin function, remote sales and letting offices, remote construction sites and 'road-warriors' through the use of appropriate technology.My support team and I supported over 250 desktopsI was also responsible for negotiating and contracts for services hardware and support for the in-house systems with suppliers such as O2, Vodafone, EMC, BT, Kingston Communications.
