Whether it’s an ERISA litigation matter, a wage-and-hour claim under the FLSA and/or state law, a non-compete and trade secrets case, or claims of discrimination or retaliation, Paul diligently applies his years of experience in state and federal courtrooms, as well as in arbitration hearing rooms, to represent his clients ably through final resolution.With litigation experience in over 15 states, Paul has not only represented employers and other clients as lead counsel in litigation, but he has also become skilled in assessing and managing litigation on a regional basis, using networks of proven local or co-counsel when needed.Active in professional life and the community, Paul has been a leader in DRI—The Voice of the Defense Bar, and serves as Chair of the ERISA Litigation Subcommittee within DRI’s Employment and Labor Law Committee, and in publications with DRI’s Life, Health and Disability/ERISA Committee. The Notre Dame Club of Detroit selected Paul as a Director from 2008-18 and President (2012-13). Paul was co-founder of the Notre Dame Lawyers Committee in Detroit, and was a key member of the leadership teams that won numerous top awards from the Notre Dame Alumni Association. In 2016, the Club named Paul recipient of its prestigious Award of the Year. In 2021, Paul was chosen to serve as Vice President of the Notre Dame Club of Grand Rapids and its President in 2023. Under his leadership and vision, the Club won national Outstanding Club (in Class A), which was the first time Grand Rapids won this award in 20 years. Paul also has served as a volunteer girls soccer coach and has been ordained to serve as a deacon in his church.
