Following my incredibly enjoyable and successful career at Fidelity Investments, and my entrepreneurial jump running AllergyEats (both described below), the lure of the markets was too strong for me to resist. Given my passion for active, fundamental equity asset management, I began Sandy Cove Investments at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. My focus is back where it was during my Fidelity days, primarily in small- and micro-cap stocks. Outside of this, my style is not narrowly defined. When asked, I simply say, "My style is to buy stocks that will go up." The future of Sandy Cove Investments is still being considered, in terms of size and structure, as it continues to grow organically through market performance. In June 2008, inspired by my children and others with food allergies, I developed AllergyEats. Launched in February, 2010, AllergyEats quickly became the largest national online guide to allergy-friendly restaurants. With restaurant ratings based on peer reviews, and supported by other information critical for the food-allergic diner, the goal of AllergyEats is to help those with food allergies and intolerances more comfortably and confidently enjoy the experience of dining outside the home. At the current time, I am working on a transition strategy that would see AllergyEats owned and operated by another party, while I expect to maintain a significant investment and advisory position. After almost 17 years at Fidelity Investments, most of them managing the Small Cap Stock Fund, I "retired" in June 2008 to pursue more personal interests. For 10 of the 17 years, I managed the Fidelity Small Cap Stock Fund from its inception 3/98 until 6/08 (reaching $5.2B in assets, beating over 83% of peers, and outpacing the Russell 2000 index by just over 4 percentage points per year). Immediately after leaving Fidelity, I began managing personal investments, but soon found the need to stop doing so given the tremendous growth and time requirements of AllergyEats.Specialties: portfolio management, fundamental stock analysis, stock screening, analyst training, dining out with food allergies, deep food allergy knowledge, public speaking
