Research Scientist (Mineral Sciences)
CurrentI am a Research Scientist in the Mineral Sciences section, Research & Collections Division, at the Canadian Museum of Nature. My research interests are centred around the mineralogy and crystal chemistry of minerals from alkaline rocks. I have worked in southeastern British Columbia, southern Norway (the Larvik Plutonic Complex), in Ratanakiri, Cambodia (xenocrystic zircon and Cenozoic alkaline basalts), at the Stoutemeyer syenite, Virgina, and on new mineral species from Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. I am interested in the behavior of rare-elements, in particular high field-strength and rare-earth elements, in alkaline magmas and associated hydrothermal fluids.
