DirectorFlight Directors Consultancy Aug 2015 - PresentFlight Directors has an ongoing research and consultancy contract to advise Government regulators on commercial issues related to the supply and demand for Charter Capacity. This work formed the basis of the plan used by the British Government to charter over 30 airlines and 50 aircraft to quickly repatriate passengers following a major airline failure in October 2017. Also during late September 2019, the same principles and mechanics were employed to arrange the much larger airlift of Thomas Cook passengers where over 150,000 people were repatriated over 14 days using 50 different airlines. Over the past three decades, we have been involved in all aspects of large jet charter contracting and this experience is now being used to map out the peaks and troughs of charter aircraft availability in key European and North American markets. In addition, to identifying and building long term relationships with specific potential suppliers of aircraft, the research includes a detailed analysis of different models for the provision of aircraft, charter pricing, and contract terms. It is envisaged that the research will be subsequently used to provide a future framework for analysing the charter industry with respect to its resilience and ability to response effectively should there be the requirement for a significant repatriation of holidaymakers. As the research agenda progresses participating airlines will be contacted directly by Paul Argyle, Managing Director, Flight Directors. pargyle@flightdirectors.com
